  • Account Information: When you register via Email or Google Sign-In, we collect your name, username, email address, phone number, and password.

  • Profile Data: To help you connect with others, we collect data you voluntarily provide, such as your profile photo, gender, date of birth, bio, social media links, and personal interests.

  • User-Generated Content: We store the messages, view-once photos, and standard images you send through our chat system. (Note: View-once photos are automatically deleted from our servers once viewed).

  • Matchmaking Preferences: We collect your filter preferences (age range and preferred gender) to provide accurate matches.

  • Device & Usage Information: We collect your device token (FCM Token) for push notifications, online status, and last seen timestamps.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To create, manage, and authenticate your account.

  • To operate our random matchmaking algorithm and connect you with other users.

  • To facilitate real-time text and image messaging.

  • To send you push notifications regarding new messages, friend requests, and app updates.

  • To process premium subscriptions (NexChat Premium) and manage your purchase history.

  • To enforce our Terms & Conditions and maintain a safe environment (e.g., handling reports and blocklists).

3. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. However, we use trusted third-party services to operate our app, which may have access to your data under strict confidentiality:

  • Firebase (Google): Used for database hosting (Cloud Firestore), user authentication, cloud storage (for profile and chat images), and push notifications.

  • Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements to free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to provide personalized ads.

  • RevenueCat: Used to process securely and manage your in-app purchases and subscriptions.

4. User Safety and Content Moderation

NexChat is a platform for respectful communication.

  • Blocking & Reporting: You can block any user or report inappropriate behavior directly from the app.

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive language, explicit content, harassment, or illegal activities. Users found violating these rules will be permanently banned.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

You have full control over your data.

  • Account Deletion: You can request account deletion directly from the "Profile Settings" in the app. Once requested, your account and associated data will be permanently deleted from our active servers within 7 days.

  • Data Retention: We retain your profile information and chat history only for as long as your account is active. Blocked user lists are retained to ensure your continued safety.

6. Children's Privacy

NexChat is strictly intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will immediately delete that account and data from our servers.

7. Security of Your Data

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures provided by Google Firebase to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
